Planet Waves Dual-Action Capo

Planet Waves Dual-Action Capo

I’m sure that there are many guitarists out there (including myself) who have tried all the various brands of capo’s available on the market today in search of “capo nirvana”. In the past I have used the Kyser capo (until I lost it at a gig) now I am currently performing with the Shubb capo. The major advantage of the Shubb is that it is able to clamp down on the strings very evenly and effectively, yet it lacks the quick release ability that the Kyser has.

Planet Waves have realised that there is still some room for improvement in the basic capo design and have teamed up with Ned Steinberger to produced what is arguably the perfect capo design. It could be best described as a Kyser/Shubb hybrid or better still think of it as a “Kyshubb”. The Dual-Action features the quick release ability of the Kyser combined with a Shubb inspired micro-tension adjustment control. Another new innovation this capo has over its competitors is the ability to eliminate any side-pulling on the strings, thus preventing any serious tuning issues. I was a little sceptical at first of the manufacturers claims regarding this, but my scepticism was very short lived once I found out that this capo was able to maintain a perfect and consistent tuning across the fretboard.

Planet Waves dedication to researching and developing this ground-breaking capo has paid off in leaps and bounds. Considering the added benefits of the Dual-Action over its competitors at the exact same price point, there is no sensible reason to recommend any other brand of capo over the Planet Waves Dual-Action.
